Quality Assurance (QA) Hacker

GoInstant is looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) Hacker interested in being a key member of our development team. The QA Hacker is essential for maintaining quality, improving our QA processes and holding everyone to rigorous standards.

We’re seeking individuals interested in working with the latest technologies, deploying code daily, and having a huge impact on how people browse the web. Quality is paramount, and our testing requirements are above and beyond those for a typical web application.

Let’s talk about you:

You're a hacker. You love working with lots of new technologies and experimenting. And you love QA. You know we win and our customers win when the quality is there, and baked right into everything we do. Some of the technologies we use include Ruby, JavaScript and Selenium. You need to have good experience in these.

Ideally, you have knowledge of automated cross-browser testing (w/ Selenium), virtual machines, client-side unit testing, integration testing, and server-side unit testing.

• You are highly organized, focused, creative and meticulous.
• You care about quality above all else.
• You understand UI/UX concepts.
• You dabble in a variety of programming languages and like to learn. (Have you ever heard of Sikuli?)
• You have 3-5 years experience in development

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll be learning how the web is built from the latest applications to the oldest sites; from the structure, style, scripts, and servers that run it. You’ll maintain and improve the quality of a multi-user, real-time, interactive layer that interfaces the entire web.

You'll verify that new code meets high standards of quality and does what it's supposed to do. You'll investigate edge cases and side-effects.

You'll analyze and create automated tests and systems that probe, prove and continuously ensure non-regression of the code. You'll develop automated systems and tests that ultimately uncover weak spots, flaws, security concerns and any unexpected side effects.

You'll  help extend and maintain the Functional QA Infrastructure, which includes developing control test pages, integrating with live test cases, and helping architect a one of a kind synchronous virtual environment.

Some of the projects we have on our roadmap include:

• Develop Selenium to support Multi-User parallel configurations.
• Automatic headless web crawler website/server technology inspector - aka. Compatibility Checker
• Image recognition automation deployed to continuous integration architecture
